About the CRSP US Total Market Index

The CRSP U.S. total market index measures the performance of the U.S. equity markets as a whole. For this, it includes ~4,000 companies from various sectors and industries that reflect the U.S. equity market. It has exposure to both large-cap and small-cap stocks. This index covers almost ~100% of the U.S. equity market. It is also a tech-heavy index and contains ~30% in technology stocks.
